  • Timothy Ferriss toyed with the idea of calling The 4-Hour Work Week by a different name: Dealing Drugs for Fun and Profit. The idea was vetoed by a number of sources, so he took six prospective titles and created a Google Adwords keyword campaign to test various keywords. The click-through-rate of his various ads led him to the new title, The 4-Hour Workweek.

  • He has over 300,000 followers on Twitter and has personally tweeted almost 3000 times.

  • He was crowned National Kickboxing Champion in the 1999 USAWKF Sanshou competition. Somewhat modestly, Ferriss attributes his success in the competition to the simple act of shoving his opponents out of the boxing ring.

  • He has appeared on MTV Taiwan as a break-dancer. It's a skill that he is often called upon to show off. In 2008, at the Nielsen Training Conference, he told the audience, "laugh at all my jokes and I'll break dance for you at the end." The audience duly obliged so he had no choice but to honor his promise.

  • He is an actor in Human Cargo, a hit television series in Hong Kong and mainland China.

  • He has taken part in the sport of horseback archery in the Japanese city of Nikko for the History Channel. The 2008 show, Trial by Fire, gave Ferriss just one week to learn skills that would normally take many years to master.

  • During the creation of his second book, The 4-Hour Body,  Timothy Ferriss claimed to have gained 34 pounds of muscle in just 28 days.

  • His blog, Experiments in Lifestyle Design, has more incoming links than any other blog in the world.

  • On YouTube, Timothy Ferris goes by the name of Masterlock77. As at February 2012, he has uploaded over 80 personal videos, which have been viewed more than eight million times.
