Stephanie Meyer is the author of Twilight, which is book one in the four-book saga.

It’s argued that this is a five book series. However the fifth book, Midnight Sun, is still a work in progress with no foreseeable publication date.

She also wrote a short novella, “The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner.""

The other boys, like Eric and Mike, continue trying to get her to notice them.

The following week, it snows and Edward Cullen returns to school. Bella’s surprised when she sits next to him in Biology, and he’s nice to her – even sparks a conversation with her.

They accidentally touch hands during a lab experiment, and she notices how icy cold his fingers are. Edward continues to quiz Bella throughout the class period in great interest. Bella answered every question, but wasn’t sure why – her mind was full of confusion.

He seemed engrossed in our conversation, but how I could see, from the corner of my eye, that he was leaning away from me again, his hand gripping the edge of the table with unmistakable tension.”
