Tatiana de Rosnay was born on September 28th, 1961 in Paris. She grew up in both Paris and Boston, and moved to England to attend the University of East Anglia and study literature. Upon graduation, she became a press officer and then a journalist and literary critic for a French magazine. She has written 15 novels, three of which are in English, the rest being in French. Sarah’s Key, her most popular novel, achieved almost equal levels of success in French and English. In 2011, Le Figaro magazine published a list of the top ten most-read French authors, citing de Rosnay as number five. She lives in Paris with her husband and two children.
Sarah’s Key (Elle s'appelait Sarah in French) was published in 2006. It was de Rosnay’s first book written in English, and it has been translated into 15 languages in 38 countries. The book has already been made into a motion picture, starring Kirstin Scott-Thomas, which has grossed over $17,000,000 after its release in July 2011. Several editions of the book have been published, as have book club companion questions. De Rosnay has completed a few book tours promoting Sarah’s Key around the world.
