Live Well

But will you make this your life’s way?

What do you want?

What will you accept, and what will you settle for?

Taking account of your life to date, have some things gone wrong, and have some things gone right?

Being a relatively prosperous survivor in this wonder of life means—no, guarantees—that you not only did some things right, but that you did a lot right. So don’t beat yourself up if your body doesn’t look as it should, or your health is not where you’d like. If you follow the simple guidelines presented in this book, things will improve for you. Things can improve for the friends and family you care most about, too.

That’s why this book was designed to be a quick read that almost anyone can get through quickly and understand. Anyone can literally begin right now.

So let’s do a brief review.

Remember that above all, very little is being prescribed or proscribed here.

Secondly, there is no such thing as one diet for all. Our ancestors migrated to the far corners of the planet earth. They migrated to tropical regions, where they survived and thrived. They migrated to arctic regions, where they survived and thrived. Some occupied regions by seashores and lakes, some arid deserts, some mountain ranges upwards of 16,000 feet in elevation, and everything in between.

Throughout all these environments, a wide variety of plant and animal sources were used to sustain normal, human animal health. Where this wasn’t possible, they had to move on, to greener pastures. Where it was, they gained wisdom over time, learning  how best to exploit their natural environments to not only to survive, but to thrive optimally.

Don’t buy into the notion, regardless of what you read elsewhere, that Paleo is zero-carb, low-carb, moderate-carb, high-protein, high-fat, low-fat, or anything of the kind.

The Paleo way is, simply, to eat a wide variety of real, whole, plant and animal sources eaten in whatever combinations and ratios work best for you, determined over time and a bit of self experimenting. And what to avoid is equally straightforward: eat no grains and legumes, concentrated sugar, or vegetable and seed oils. Avoid all processed foods, and minimize eating out at restaurants.

Learn to become a competent and creative cook. Throw in a few of the recommended supplements to be on the safe side. Get your natural sunshine and sleep. Push, pull and lift some heavy things now and then. Run fast and go hungry sometimes. Engage in raucous sexual activity!

Eat well. Love well. Play well. Live well. I wish you all the best.
