“My heart pulled me into separate directions, and the only solution seemed to tear it in two.”

She wakes up the next evening and finds messages from Jane and Milo. They’re both worried about her and want to know when she’s coming back to school and home. Jack comes into her room and asks her what’s wrong. Jack says to relax and she doesn’t have to decide anything right that second.

Jack had called Milo while she was showering and he arrives to spend time with Alice. Alice is ecstatic to see him and realizes she missed him terribly. She tells Milo: “Don’t think for one second that I’m going to leave you behind. You mean too much for me to walk away from you, not even for a foxy guy and a lot of money.”

Jack, Milo, and Alice spend the night together catching up on Milo’s life. After dropping him off, Jack realizes how hard it’s going to be for Alice to leave behind her brother.

Later while Jack showers, Alice approaches Mae and Ezra. Alice demands to know what the point of turning is if it won’t change Peter’s feelings. Jack comes into the room and she tells him that it’s not good for anyone if she stays a part of their lives. Ezra and Jack explain that turning isn’t just about Peter and they want her there.

Everyone decides it’s best for Alice to wait a few years before turning. She can be with her brother until he goes to college and no longer needs her. It also gives them time to resolve the Peter situation. Alice returns home and Milo’s thrilled to see her. That night, Jack is supposed to pick her up, but Peter arrives at her house instead.
