Lucky Dog Cuisine

Created by Dr. Janice Elenbaas, D.C., Lucky Dog Cuisine is a new healthy, wholesome natural dog food.  When Elenbaas’  two year old Standard Poodle, Storm, was diagnosed with Addison’s disease, she decided to look for additional ways to help Storm get better.  Addison’s disease is an endocrine disorder when the adrenal glands do not produce enough steroid hormones. Her research turned into an eye opening experience that led Elenbaas to start experimenting with home cooked recipes.

Within months of feeding her home cooked recipes, she noticed a number of changes in Storm including regaining her energy and vitality. The recipes were a success and inspired the delicious dog food line Lucky Dog Cuisine.

What Dash Tried: Dash was lucky enough to get to sample Lucky Dog Cuisine  that comes in  in five delicious recipes:  Original Beef & Rice, Perfect Pooch Pasta, Tail-Waggin’ Turkey, Bugsy’s Best Beef & Barley, and Turkey ‘N Taters. Dash’s favorite was the Original Beef and Rice.

Ingredients And Preparation: Lean ground Angus beef, brown rice, ricotta cheese, tomatoes, pureed peas, carrots, beans, wheat germ, organic flax seed, extra virgin olive oil, garlic, and sea salt.  A few things that make Lucky Dog Cuisine unique:  they use their own butcher who custom grinds their meats and only use USDA butcher quality meats with real cheeses and yogurt.  All recipes are cooked using pure filtered water.

Results:    Following the directions, I gave Dash a small amount, which he inhaled, licked the bowl clean and impatiently looked at me for more.  A few minutes later Dash actually went back to his bowl and licked it again, double checking for any leftover morsels!

What I Liked:  I think this is great food and I would definitely order it for Dash. I love how Lucky Dog Cuisine is made with whole food without preservatives or anything artificial.

What I Would Change: The only thing I would change is the packaging. The samples I received came in plastic bags.  I think it would be easier to serve and store if it came in a Tupperware type container.

Overall, I was more than satisfied with the Lucky Dog Cuisine and I would highly recommend feeding it to your dog – especially if you are hesitant about switching over to a raw diet (which Dash is on), this is a nice compromise.

You get a healthy, nutritious meal for your dog and you don’t have to worry about food poisoning because it’s already been cooked.  Check it out at www.luckydogcuisine.com

K9 Cuisine

K9Cuisine.com, a unique online pet store, has quite a few attributes which make it preferable to use when buying your pet food. Not only does it have a huge selection, but they offer free shipping both ways! I know that a lot of times I resist buying anything online for Dash because of the shipping but with free shipping both ways, I have feel comfortable to try something new.

Not only does K9Cuisine carry pet food, but they also have flea and tick products, grooming products, kitty litter, supplements and treats! I was most impressed by the numerous treats they offered, particularly the gluten free kind. I like to think, that, being in the pet industry, I keep a top of all of the newest treats and toys. K9Cuisine.com also sells  treats that even I had never heard of.

The website is user friendly – appealing to the eye and easy to navigate. There are tabs leading to products for cats and dogs, information, and a blog. The company has a plethora of brands so you’re sure to find your pet’s brand of food.

I was impressed to find that K9Cuisine.com carries some of the better brands, such as Merrick, Evo/Innova, Honest Kitchen and Nature’s Variety.  But there are also less costly brands.  I was really surprised to find that they offered freeze dried RAW diet and BARF (Bones and Raw Food) diets as well. You can even order free samples of select brands to try out. Definitely worth checking out.
