About Robert Kirkman

Robert Kirkman’s a New York Timesbestselling author living in Richmond, Kentucky. He originally had trouble finding a publisher for his first comic book series, Battle Pope, so he decided to go on the self-publishing route. Marvel Comics then hired him; there, he worked on titles such as Marvel Zombies and Ultimate X-men. Marvel Zombies went on to win the 2006 Scream Award for Best Comic Book. He eventually left Marvel for more creative freedom at Image Comics.

Kirkman’s currently a partner at Image, which publishes The Walking Dead. His other works at the company include Invincible and The Astounding Wolf-Man. Invincible has been adapted into a motion comic. The Walking Dead won the 2010 Eisner Award for Best Continuing Series and the 2010 Scream Award for Best Comic Book. He also founded a new imprint at Image called Skybound, which focuses on up-and-coming series outside of the mass-market.
