Boundless Opportunities That Cruises Offer...Aside From Food

  1. Cruise and sailing trips offer plenty of opportunities to be active. However, while cruising, it can be difficult to keep your fitness a priority. Make your next cruise an active and memorable vacation with these tips.
  2. Cruise ships have gyms or climbing walls. There are also swimming, skating, zip lining, jogging, relay races, surfing pools, wakeboarding pools, waterslides, dancing classes, zumba classes and aqua classes. Take advantage of them.
  3. Get off the ship and participate in the activities. Excursions include kayaking, snorkeling , scuba diving, paragliding, horseback riding, swimming with dolphins, water skiing, jet skiing, kite boarding, mountain climbing, wakeboarding, crabbing, cycling, hiking, fishing, swimming with turtles, skating, mountain biking, scootering and even activities like dog sledding, if you’re on an Alaska cruise.
  4. Make sure you work out before you leave, no matter how crazy it is on the day that you leave for the ship.
  5. If you happen to arrive at the cruise board early, this is a great time to walk around the boat and check it out.
  6. Skip the visit to the bar and the welcome drink.
  7. Pack comfortable shoes and clothes that you can be active in. Having the right clothes with you will make it easier to opt for the onboard gym instead of sleeping in and hitting the brunch buffet.
  8. Get your workout in before breakfast and you will be more likely to choose healthier options. Added bonus: you won’t have to worry about squeezing it in later in the day when you are at a port of call or when other activities are going on.
  9. Do at least 1 thing you can talk about over dinner - every day. Note: wine tasting and limbo contests don’t count.
  10. Women: Bring a bathing suit that has straps, so you can actually move around in the pool.
